Hello and welcome to your weekly FoBS update. As you might imagine at this time of year, we are all about Christmas this week!
Photo Booth Booking - Santa's Grotto bookings for Saturday's Christmas Fair have now closed, but we still have a few spots available for the family Fun Photo Booth (poster attached). If you'd like to book a photo session please email graydonna@hotmail.co.uk).
Christmas Fair Donations - Thanks so much to all of you who brought in tombola donations and treasure jars on Friday! If you forgot to bring yours, don't worry - trollies will be outside both entrances every day next week. Remember it's donations for the sweet tombola for Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and something for the alcohol tombola for Years 3 to 6. If you don't want to donate alcohol please just switch your donation for the sweet tombola instead as we can't include non-alcoholic drinks in the alcohol tombola. Thanks also to those of you who gave up your Friday afternoon to help decorate the school for Christmas. It all looks gorgeous and the children will be so delighted tomorrow morning to come in to everything feeling so festive!
Cake Stall - We will be having a cake stall at Saturday's Christmas Fair and are asking for any of you Mary Berry wannabes to bring some home-made cakes in for us to sell! Please either leave them in the donations trollies this Friday or bring them into school before the Fair starts on Saturday morning to give our cake sale staff time to put your goodies on display. Make sure you put your child's name and class on any containers so we can make sure everything gets returned to its rightful owner. Finally, please remember that all treats must be nut free!
Raffle Tickets - Our Christmas Fair committee have done an absolutely stellar job in sourcing prizes for the raffle this year. We've attached a list of some of the goodies on offer - just take a look, they are really fantastic! Tickets will be on sale every day this week, so remember to bring some cash to be in with a chance of bagging something amazing!
Volunteering at the Christmas Fair - Class Reps now have their stall allocations and have no doubt been in touch with you via Facebook or WhatsApp asking for volunteers for next Saturday. Please do consider coming to help, even if it's only for half an hour. If the slot you're available has already been taken by someone else from your class, never fear! The fabulous Fair Committee will be very happy to point you in the direction of another stall that needs an extra pair of hands. We also really need people to help set up beforehand and clear away afterwards - don't worry about finding childcare, we're more than happy for you to bring your children along to help!
Year 6 Leavers Party Fundraising - Thanks so much to those of you who participated in the Year 6 fundraising events recently. We raised a grand total of £297.30 which will make a huge contribution to the end-of-year celebrations next Summer.
FoBS Volunteers WhatsApp Group - If you think you might be able to spare a bit of time occasionally, even if it's only half an hour, why not join our Volunteers WhatsApp Group? Whenever we need people to lend a hand, be it helping to supply refreshments at a meeting or delivering leaflets to advertise our events, we post to the group and if you're available, you just let us know. No pressure! To join the group, simply reply to this email and include your name, child's name and class and your phone number.
