Hello!
It's been a while since you have heard from us! We are so proud of the way that our school has responded to the strange times we find ourselves in and we wanted to share with you some of the ways in which FoBS can support you and your family.
The Great Big Uniform Giveaway! That's right - second hand school uniform, absolutely free of charge.
At this time when many people are feeling the pinch we thought this would be a great thing to be able to do.
To make this work we need your donations! Please bring uniform (uniform in really good condition ONLY!) to school THIS Tuesday 23rd June and Wednesday 24th June in the morning only.
For health and safety reasons the uniform MUST be tied securely in bags, no loose items. Trolleys will be out by the gate by the flagpole entrance. Lightly worn school shoes and PE trainers are appreciated but must be tied together with string or an elastic band.
The Great Uniform Give Away will take place on Friday 3rd July from 11.30am - 1.30pm and Saturday 4th July from 10am - 12pm on Vauxmead NOT at school. This is so we can safely maintain social distancing. More details to follow, but we will need to restrict the number of people entering the Give Away at one time, so if at all possible please do not bring children with you. There will be an opportunity to make a cash donation if you wish.
If you’re unable to attend in person and need uniform then please send an email to burhilluniform@gmail.com by 6pm on Tuesday 30th June stating exactly what items you need and what size/age your child is wearing along with their year group. These will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. These items can be collected at a mutually convenient time.
Funding for Learning. Our financial support puts the Fun into Funding(!), allowing Burhill staff to enhance the learning opportunities for all our children, Since our last Robin FoBS have approved funding for a mobile library for use around the school, allowing children to safely borrow and return books. We have also financed the licence for a fantastic writing programme, CLICKER 8 which has proved beneficial to many children in lockdown.
