Welcome back to school! We hope you all had a lovely and relaxing Summer break.
As always, here at FoBS HQ we are raring to go with some fabulous fundraising for the Autumn Term. Here are a few of the upcoming events we've got planned with details of how you can help make them happen, plus the rest of our start-of-term news.
Autumn Quiz Night - Following on from the success of last year's event, we have another night planned for Friday 18 October. We are looking for a team of people to advertise the event, organise the tickets, book the food delivery, supply and run the bar and generally do whatever it takes to make everything go with a swing! If you're interested, please let us know by replying to this email.
Christmas Fair Committee - Our Christmas Fair is scheduled for 7 December and we need a committee to organise the various stalls, games, grotto, refreshments etc. The Fair is a hugely enjoyable event for all the families who attend, but we won't be able to hold it at all this year unless we can find someone who's willing to run it!!
Burhill Tea Towel Project - As many of you will know, each year the children help to design special tea towels for their different year groups which make fantastic gifts for friends and family. This project has been run by the lovely Fran for the past few years but understandably she now wishes to pass on the baton to another volunteer. Fran is happy to provide a comprehensive handover of everything that needs to be done, so if you think you'd be interested in taking over then we'd love to hear from you.
FoBS Committee Vacancies - Our AGM is due to take place on 3 October and we are looking for a Vice Chair (or even two Chairs) and a Co-Treasurer. No previous experience is necessary! If you would like further information on any of the committee roles please just shout - we'd be delighted to answer any questions.
Next FoBS Meeting - please note that this meeting wil now take place on Friday 20 September and not 13 September as previously advised. The meeting will be held in the Children's Centre and will start at 9am. We hope to see you there!
FoBS Volunteers WhatsApp Group - If you think you might be able to spare a bit of time occasionally, even if it's only half an hour, why not join our Volunteers WhatsApp group? Whenever we need people to lend a hand, be it helping to supply refreshments at a meeting or delivering leaflets to advertise our events, we post to the group and if you're available, you just let us know. No pressure! To join the group, simply reply to this email and include your name, child's class and your phone number.
