Wow - what an amazing Quiz Night we enjoyed last Friday! The event was a huge success and we are delighted to announce that it made a stupendous profit of £1200!! Many congratulations go to our Quiz Committee of Heather Fellowes, Laura Harrison, Lara Hughes and Louise Harding plus all the lovely people who helped out before, during and after the event. Congratulations also of course go to our winning team, University Challenged! 🏆

Class Reps have now been sent details of which stall or activity their class will be responsible for at the Fireworks. If they haven't already, they'll be in touch with everyone in their class to ask people to help out on the night. Do please consider signing up. Slots are only 30 minutes long so you won't be missing out by volunteering , and you'll be making a great contribution towards the success of the event, which is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year . Alternatively you could always come and help set up before the event starts - we don't mind if you bring the children with you!
Christmas Cards - yes, we know it's only the middle of October, but your fabulous children have been busy creating their own artwork to be transformed into beautiful Christmas cards for you to send to friends and family - sales of which raise money for the school. All 600+ pictures were couriered to the printers at the end of last week and will be sent back once they've scanned them all and uploaded to their website. Once we receive the artwork back we'll send it home via book bags together with instructions on how you can order cards, gift tags and wrapping paper featuring your child's design. Watch this space for further info!
FoBS AGM - Thanks to those of you who gave up your Wednesday evening to come to the FoBS AGM last week. It was a great turnout and particularly lovely to see so many members of staff in attendance. Minutes are under review and will be published on the FoBS website as soon as possible - https://www.friendsofburhillschool.co.uk. Speaking of our website, why not pay us a visit? There's lots of useful information there including details of all our fundraising and how you can get involved. FoBS Volunteers WhatsApp Group - If you think you might be able to spare a bit of time occasionally, even if it's only half an hour, why not join our Volunteers WhatsApp group? Whenever we need people to lend a hand, be it helping to supply refreshments at a meeting or delivering leaflets to advertise our events, we post to the group and if you're available, you just let us know. No pressure! To join the group, simply reply to this email and include your name, child's class and your phone number.
