Hello all,
FoBS are looking forward to the year ahead, planning our fantastic fundraisers and thinking about what we should raise funds for in 2019.
Each year we consult with the teachers and Mrs Taylor and take a vote at our FoBS meetings to decide where we’d like to contribute. We know it’s often tricky for parents to come along to the meetings so we thought we'd ask you to email us with your ideas.
To get you thinking here’s how the funds we’ve raised in previous years have benefited Burhill students and supported the broader curriculum:-
Sun sails in the playground
An outdoor classroom
An outdoor stage
Gazebos
A shed for wellies
A digital piano
Musical instruments
School books
Sports uniforms
Besides this we continue to pay for smaller things to enhance our children’s learning experience at Burhill:-
The upkeep of the bees and chickens
Upkeep of the school gardens
Stories by Candlelight
Crackers, reindeer and class presents at Christmas
Easter eggs
Sports day ice lollies
Year 6 leaver’s party
£100 budget for each class each year
Going forward we’ll also be contributing towards the redesign of the library and the cost of a significant design feature to enhance the space. We’ll also provide funding towards the build of some much needed outdoor toilets.
So please have a think and email your ideas, big or small, to treasurers@friendsofburhillschool.co.uk by 7th December. We'll review all the ideas with Mrs Taylor and taking cost and practicality into consideration put together a shortlist. We’d then like to ask you to vote online for your preferred idea.
