Welcome back! Lots to tell you about as we race into what is already shaping up to be an exciting Summer Term. Here's an update on what FoBS have been up to and what's coming up soon...
Spending the money you've raised!
Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent Doodle Poll where we asked parents to vote on what they'd most like to spend some of the FoBS money on. The most popular choice was an end of year treat for the children and we are excited to say that we have now booked what will be a fantastic surprise for the whole school. Look out for more details coming soon.
Library Project: FoBS have paid £10,600 this week towards the library refurbishment and volunteers have been helping to to get it ready asap, including lots of amazing new books! We'll keep you posted on progress and hope to have an opening date and photos to share very soon.
PA System for School Hall: The new PA system for the school hall has been agreed, to be funded by the incredible £9,247 profit made from this year's Burhill Brits Ball, with the aim of having it up and running in time for the Year 6 performances in June.
SEN Support: Orders are being processed at the moment for equipment to greatly improve our SEN provision - it's on its way!
Gardening: Thank you to the lovely FoBS volunteers who have been working hard over the Easter break to improve the gardens and greenery around school with a revamp of beds, including new flowers, pots and hanging baskets.
Uniform Sale: A huge thank you to everyone who helped run the uniform sale this week - the sale raised a fantastic £150.
Summer Fair
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help with this event. We do still need more volunteers so if you can spare some time in the run up to the Fair or help us on the day, it would be very much appreciated. It is always a fun day for the whole family with games, stalls, inflatables, bungee trampolines and lots of activities - come along and get involved!
School Discos
For Reception through to Year 5. These will all take place on Friday 5th July - times and further details to be announced soon.
Fireworks Committee
We are looking for volunteers to organise this year's Fireworks event - could this be you?
Volunteers WhatsApp Group
Thank you to everyone who's signed up so far. Even if you can only spare half an hour of your time, it really does make a difference. If you'd like to help, join our Volunteers WhatsApp Group and we'll put a shout out when we need help - if you're available, just let us know! Just reply to the usual FoBS email address and include your name, child's class and year and your phone number.
Tea Towels
We still have some of this year's tea towels available which we're selling at a reduced price of £2.50 each. It's first come, first served as to what's left as there is a limited supply of some classes, more of others. Please email the usual FoBS email address with the class/es and the amount you'd like and we'll contact you.
