The Robin - 1 July 2019

Hi All,

Hope everyone's had an enjoyable extended Inset-Weekend! Here's your FoBS round up for the coming week...

URGENT PLEA: We Need A Fireworks Committee!

We desperately need a Fireworks Committee to organise this hugely popular event. Time is running out and if the committee is not set up by the end of this term, there will be no Fireworks Event. It's as simple as that - we need volunteers or it will not happen.

ANOTHER URGENT PLEA: We also need a Christmas Fair Committee!

Without volunteers stepping forward, we're sad to say that there is a strong possibility that the Christmas Fair won't happen either. Please, please think about helping out!

SUMMER SALE! Burhill Tea Towels

We still have some tea towels with your child's artwork on them if you'd like to buy some extras - they make lovely presents! Just email us your requirements and we'll check stock levels - Year 4 and Nursery sold out already, sorry.

Message from our Second-hand School Uniform Team

If anyone has a freestanding clothes rail they no longer need, they would really appreciate it please.

If you missed it last week:

A Message from Burhill Primary School Governors & Friends of Burhill School (FoBS)

Dear Parents and Carers,

After years of hard work teaching, inspiring, leading and creating that "Burhill Sparkle" across the school, nursery and children's centre, Mrs Taylor is retiring!

Mrs Taylor joined the school 10 years ago and became head in September 2013. During this time she has led the way in overseeing the transition from an Infant to a Primary School. But more importantly, she has been instrumental in supporting hundreds of our children to be ready to take the next step in their lives.

She has always been a firm believer in putting the child first, so we think that after over 30 years in teaching, it is time that we put her first for a change and have set up a Go Fund Me page in which you can make a donation towards her retirement gift. Feel free to leave a message and we will ensure Mrs T gets to see it!

Volunteers WhatsApp Group

Even if you can only spare half an hour of your time, it really does make a difference. If you'd like to help, join our Volunteers WhatsApp Group and we'll put a shout out when we need help - if you're available, just let us know!

Just reply to the usual FoBS email address and include your name, child's class and year and your phone number.

Dates for the diary:-
