The Robin - 27 June 2020

Hello everyone, we hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine!

Exciting news! This Friday 3rd July at 8pm sees the return of the Burhill Quiz. Bigger, Better and Appropriately Socially Distanced (via Zoom!)

If you wish to take part in our first ever Virtual Quiz we have spaces available for the first 200 lucky people who respond via the Google Forms link below:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1vKgxRLw3eMU7dzBrzmB_0Kd0AShk1L7W0Xbp954T6uU

The very lovely James Johnson has been amazing and offered to host this for us – Thank you James!

The deadline to sign up is midnight on Wednesday. You will then be emailed the link to sign in to the quiz. As many adults as are in the house are welcome to join in, but the quiz will not be suitable for children.

What a weekend it will be, because the Burhill Uniform Give-away (BUG as all the best people are calling it!) is taking place on Vauxmead on Friday 3rd July from 11.30am - 1.30pm and Saturday 4th July from 10am - 12pm. Thank you for all the donations, we are so pleased to have this opportunity to support all our families in getting ready to return to school.

A reminder that if at all possible you should attend without children to help keep numbers down and keep everyone safe. There will be an opportunity to make a donation to FoBS if you would like to.

If you have already volunteered to help – thank you, you are a legend and we love you. If you have been meaning to help out, but not got round to it yet, don’t worry it’s not too late, we’d love to have you on the team; either let us know on the Volunteers WhatsApp group or drop us an email by replying to this!

If you can’t make the giveaway in person then please send an e mail with your requirements to burhilluniform@gmail.com by this Tuesday 30th at 6pm, stating the size (not age) your child requires and if they’re KS1 or 2.

This is a challenging time for everyone so if you do need advice regarding your family situation then Audrey Pugh, the home school link worker, may be able to help you. She is super and can be contacted on apugh@burhill.surrey.sch.uk

If you have any financial concerns then please contact crisis@burhill.surrey.sch.uk

Finally we are delighted to announce that FoBS has been able to fund an end of term picnic party for the all the staff at Burhill. Funding this is a wonderful way for us as a parent body to say a thank you to each and every one of the staff who work at Burhill for going above and beyond to support, nurture and educate our children. We are so proud of them and the work they do selflessly, cheerfully and with such dedication.

Without you and your donations and support we would not be able to do this, so thank you all for being part of our Burhill family.

If you have any ideas about anything more we could be doing to help and support each other, please get in touch.

Coming next week is news of the Great Burhill Book Exchange, a chance for families to donate and swap books and stock up for the summer holidays.

Take care of yourselves and each other,

All of the FoBS team
